Google Classroom
Cambridge uses Google Classroom as its LMS. Google Classroom is a virtual platform where students and teachers conduct their online classes, access lessons, materials, and feedback, enhancing the learning experience.
Google Classroom is a digital hub where teachers engage and conduct their online classes. It is a place where students can access assignments, submit work, and collaborate with classmates. It simplifies students learning experience by staying organized as everything is centralized in one platform.
For parents, Google Classroom serves as a window into their child's academic journey. It allows parents to stay involved through regular updates and access to classroom activities, keeping them connected to support their child's education.
More importantly, Google Classroom integrates seamlessly with other Google tools like Docs, Sheets, and Slides, making it easy to manage classwork digitally.
Academic Online Programs and Assessments Tools
Our online education is further enhanced by partnerships with award-winning academic programs such as Raz Plus, Matific, and Cerebry, ensuring comprehensive and engaging curriculum support.
Raz-Plus and Science A-Z are online educational programs that combine literacy with subject learning for young students. Raz-Plus focuses on improving reading comprehension with leveled texts and lesson plans, while Science A-Z integrates science topics into literacy instruction with engaging, hands-on activities. These programs simultaneously develop reading and subject-specific skills, making learning more efficient and enjoyable compared to single-focus programs.
Matific and Cerebry are interactive math programs designed to enhance learning and appreciation of mathematics. Matific uses engaging games and Singapore Math principles to teach concepts and develop problem-solving skills. Cerebry leverages AI to provide personalized, real-time support for tailored learning experiences. Both stand out for their adaptive features, making math lessons approachable and effective compared to traditional methods.
i-Ready is an online educational tool designed to assess students' learning levels and provide personalized instruction tailored to their needs. Its key advantage lies in its ability to adapt lessons based on each student's progress, helping teachers identify strengths and areas for improvement. This personalized approach makes it stand out from other programs, as it ensures that every student receives targeted support to maximize their growth.
Grade Levels and Subjects
The online program is offered to all grade levels –Preschool, Elementary, Junior High and Special Education (ExCEL).
Subjects depend on the grade level.
Core subjects: English, Reading, Science, Math
Non-Core: Civics and Culture, Filipino, Music, TLE, MAPE GMRC, Makabansa, Values Ed.
WHAT HAPPENS IN AN ONLINE SETUP?
Our virtual classroom shares several similarities with a physical classroom. Instead of walking into a traditional classroom, you simply log in to your Google Classroom account, which contains everything you need.
- Virtual Classroom Environment – Each Grade Level has classrooms setup in the Google Classroom platform. Students attend their classes through that platform via Google Meet.
- Interactive Lessons – Teachers deliver live lectures enhanced with visual aids, slides, and multimedia tools. Students actively engage by asking questions, joining discussions, and collaborating through chat, breakout rooms, and virtual tools like whiteboards. Students also have accounts to access their Online Programs (Raz Plus, Science A-Z, Matiffic, or Cerebry).
- Assignments and Assessments – Tasks, quizzes, and exams are assigned and submitted in the Google Classroom. Deadlines, criteria, and proctoring tools ensure order and integrity. Quarterly Exams and i-Ready assessments are performed quarterly.
- Group Collaboration – Small group projects and discussions are facilitated using platforms like Google Docs or breakout sessions, simulating teamwork in a physical setup. Teachers and Students can collaborate using Google Workspace and Google Chat.
- Learning Resources – Digital materials, such as e-books, articles, and videos are shared in the Google Classroom platform or sent via email.
- Classroom Etiquette – Students follow guidelines, such as muting microphones when not speaking or showing respect in virtual communication, similar to raising hands in physical classes.
WHAT DOES MY CHILD NEED?
The following items are essential and recommended to ensure your child has a successful online learning experience:
- Reliable Internet Connection – A stable and fast connection is essential for video calls, downloading materials, and submitting assignments.
- Suitable Device – A laptop, desktop, or tablet is recommended for online classes. The devise should have camera (or can connect to external camera) and can connect an external headset. We do not recommend smartphones as this hinders proper visibility and the learning experience.
- Learning Platform Access – User accounts and Login credentials will be provided to the students upon enrollment.
- Google Chrome Application – Since our online program uses Google Classroom, the device should be able to run Google Chrome.
- Headphones and Camera – The use of headphones with built in microphones is recommended. The built-in device camera is acceptable. All students must be able to turn on their cameras during classes when requested.
- Workspace – A quiet and organized area conducive to learning, free from distractions.
- School Supplies – Note-taking materials. These are available from Cambridge.
CLASS SCHEDULE and Uniform
Class schedules will be announced a few weeks prior to the start of classes.
The number of subjects varies depending on the grade level. However, students generally have three to four (3–4) subjects per day, with each subject lasting one hour. A 15-minute interval is provided to allow students to rest their eyes and stretch.
To maintain a sense of cohesion and school identity, even while attending classes remotely, the school requires students to wear a designated uniform for online learning. The Online Program uniform is a set of comfortable shirts and is different from the regular Face-to-Face uniform.
